Does exactly what it says.

I have a 2007 Ford Expedition EL with navigation and wanted to get rid of the AUX-in cable and Bluetooth FM cigarette lighter adapter. Expeditions do not have switchable 12V outlets, they are always on. That way I would have to pull out my adapter just enough to cut power so I don't kill my battery. Also, FM broadcasting doesn't sound as good as cable. I read the reviews before purchasing and was a bit concerned that some reviews said it would still make your companion work and others didn'tโ€ฆ

Easy to install, amazing functionality at a reasonable price

The BT45-FORD2 is an excellent device. Very easy to install on my 2006 Ford F150 Super Crew. I was able to easily find reference videos on YouTube for removing the front around the radio and the housing next to the shifter. Basically, just film them using a few tricks provided on YouTube to teach you the basic procedure. The proprietary product does not include an extension cord to connect the USB port to the cabin or a line/auxiliary connector to connect to the cabin. It has to be purchasedโ€ฆ

Much better than Factory 1 Radio!

First I bought Radio Factory 1, a regular radio that was disassembled and equipped with Bluetooth. I paid $285 for one of these to match my 2007 F150 KingRanch with 6 disc changer and external factory satellite radio. When the radio arrived I removed the factory radio and noticed that it was a lot heavier than the one Factory 1 sent me. I looked into the new radio with a flashlight and noticed that it only had a disc player. I called Factory 1 and spoke to Derek S., Sales Manager, and he saidโ€ฆ

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • A little maintainability

This is really a plug and play setup. If you're a natural born button pusher, electronics nerd, etc., you don't really need directions. That's understandable. UPS got this working for me, I went out and got it done in 10 minutes. It took most of the time to remove the panel under the steering column and attach everything underneath. The booklet explains the installation and even gives the factory location of satellite receivers in various vehicles. I already knew where mine was, but this willโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Weight
Cons
  • Some small things

We have a 2008 Ford Expedition that our family uses for road trips with enough room for things and people. However, Ford did not integrate Bluetooth into the vehicle until the next model year. While the sound system is amazing with built-in navigation, rear seat and steering, we had to use either the aux-in, a Bluetooth FM transmitter or a headset for calls and music, neither of which were great. We wanted to keep the OEM features of the touch radio/navigation box. Found a BT45 Ford2 kit online

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
