This is really a plug and play setup. If you're a natural born button pusher, electronics nerd, etc., you don't really need directions. That's understandable. UPS got this working for me, I went out and got it done in 10 minutes. It took most of the time to remove the panel under the steering column and attach everything underneath. The booklet explains the installation and even gives the factory location of satellite receivers in various vehicles. I already knew where mine was, but this will help a lot of people. I left the cable coiled up so it didn't have to be untied and tied it to other cables under the steering column. I had to wait to see if everything was working because I had to order a USB to USB cable connector. I received it the next day and everything worked without any problems. I hired Sat1 and immediately found the device on my phone. My music started playing immediately. The microphone is big, but not huge. I have it on my sights. I called my husband and he said he could hear me fine, no problems either way. I once had a Kia Sorento with Bluetooth. The built-in microphone was right above my head and the call quality was excellent both ways. I wanted to get close to that. Husband said they are comparable. I was playing around and switched to Sat2 during a call and didn't see any difference to Sat1. This was not the case with streaming. I had to leave it on Sat1 for music streaming. It will not automatically switch to Sat1 when a call comes in. Your phone rings and you have to switch to Sat1 manually. I used to install a non-original radio with bluetooth. I wanted to be able to make hands-free calls. The streaming worked great, but I tried multiple mics to get the quality and volume. At some point I gave up and just used streaming. Therefore, the microphone on this interface is a great advantage for me. Many of the above points have been covered in other reviews with conflicting information. Here's how they worked for me. The only thing I don't know is if this device should stay connected. How long does a charge last? I left it plugged in during testing, but when I was done I unplugged it, probably for a total of 5 minutes. When I unplugged it I noticed it still had juice in it as the cigarette lighter adapter light was still on. It went off when I unplugged the cable. Also, this solved my problem with an old-school non-bluetooth radio. If it goes out soon I will update it.
