Works well - surprised!

This item connects to approximately 60 feet of wall mounted Cat 5e cable and 15 feet of patch cord. I use it for a USB device for aquarium monitoring. From the packaging, the product makes a solid impression. Note the following: If you are using it with a structured cabling system (in a wall with a patch panel etc.) make sure ALL 8 CABLES are used and properly connected.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Large and bulky

Works great - cables and connections

Good for connecting my canon t5i via ethernet cable. I connected two 12ft ethernet cables to a coupler and used this USB extension cable so I could have the camera in another room while connected to my laptop. <EDIT> Two days later the device stopped working. Tried several network cables, no connection. My camera works with a regular USB 2 cable, so it's not a camera, but the network cables worked the first few days I used them.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • So far so good

Simple solution to my problem

I wanted to leave my computer with music and video in the basement and wanted to control it from above. This moved the USB transceiver for my keyboard and mouse, allowing the signal to pass easily with the keyboard and mouse on top. For reference, I used an OREI 1x4 HDMI splitter to extend my HDMI. Also highly recommended!

Seamless connection

Used with a 15m Category 5 cable to take my printer to another room. To do this I had to break through the wall. Cat 5 cable required a much smaller opening to route the connector through the wall. After the Category 5 cable was installed, I connected USB adapters to each end and the printer worked great. True plug and play. Nothing else is needed.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • For legacy equipment

Does not work with USB mixer.

Tries to connect the USB digital mixer to two different Mac computers with 100 and 1 inch CAT5 cables. Direct USB worked, but these adapters didn't work with either the Mac or the cable tested. The mixer showed up in the system report, but sometimes only as a 12 Mbit/s device, not a 480 Mbit/s. Regardless, at any given speed, Logic will not record audio from the mixer like it would with a direct USB connection.

Pros
  • also understandable for the old
Cons
  • reliability

Doesn't support USB power delivery but not bad for the money. Suitable for some purposes, for more intensive use buy a more expensive version with an external power supply. (e.g. connecting a single USB microphone works fine, connecting a mixer that records multiple channels simultaneously is not recognized, etc.).

Works with careful planning

Yes they work but they need help. On the device side (e.g. mouse) I use a powered hub. On the remote host (like a computer) I found that the hub isn't doing much. However, you should use as much straight cable as possible; I've tried repairing several together and it resulted in non-working devices.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Long wait

Didn't work at 50 feet!

I used the product to extend the security mouse by about 12 feet and it worked well. I bought the same product to extend my install to about 50 feet. It didn't work at all, the light on the mouse worked but didn't show up on the screen and was unusable. I was more concerned about the video extender (a different device) as the previous system had a 12ft HDMI extender but worked with the same 50ft video extender. Can't complain about the price, I was just guessing because the video worked, the…

Piece of junk: USB cable

I needed to connect my computer to the network adapter but I needed to stretch the adapter a bit (just a few feet with a CAT cable) so I got this product... the reviews looked pretty good and the price was fair. So I finally got it, and surprise surprise...it didn't work. I'm fed up with Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6 and Cat7 cables, I've tried cables from 10cm to 50 meters. didn't work at all! When I plugged my network adapter directly into my computer everything worked fine, when I tried to use this…

Does not support USB2 speed.

This device is most likely only suitable for a mouse or keyboard. Not the camera and not the audio and not all mice are USB. It worked with a wired USB mouse. With a BT5 dongle and a BT mouse this sometimes worked, i.e. the connection dropped randomly. The same BT dongle on a very long USB2 extension cable worked great with mice, keyboards and headsets. The plan was to use a 50 foot Cat 6 cable to connect the BT-5 dongle to a PC in another building. Connects directly to a PC and through the…
