October 2018 was the rainiest month on record. We live on a ranch in Texas and our soil is heavy clay. When I work on the street I wear tall rubber boots, but often all I have to do is walk to one of our cars and then leave without messing my car with sticky mud. We slip these covers on and off over our shoes (I bought a pair for myself and a pair for my wife) and they are great for when we get in the car, halfway remove them and then put the covers in a box that we have in the front store .

I bought a pair of these because I wear leg and ankle supports. With them I could fit in my normal shoes, they were easy to fold up and take with me when I had to work in wet or snowy conditions. Just got back from a 4 day fishing trip in Alaska and I have to say these overshoes have held up really well. In my opinion, if you don't want to spend €100 or more on real rain shoes/boots, it's absolutely great to replace athletic shoes. Be warned - the waterproof material is very thin so don't expect the shoe to perform like a boot over long periods of use. I have used my shoe covers 3 times and I love these covers. They work great. At first I thought they wouldn't cut it because the material is really flimsy, but so far so good. I wore them all day and my feet stayed dry, no water got in and most importantly they didn't crack. I even bought a pair for my mom. They're compact in the sense that once removed, I can just roll them up like socks and store them in a drawer. No bulky shoes in the house. Update: I've owned these boots for over a year now

That's "what it is" - inexpensive, lightweight, compact, temporary overshoes for occasional and relatively short-term use.
