Made the mistake of not using it right away so missed the opportunity to return it for a refund. The one I have doesn't work. Tried with conventional light bulbs and LEDs. If you buy one, try it right away so you can get your money back.

Received this straight away and found it was shipped from Lowe's and I paid for postage which was disappointing as I bought it on my Prime account , whose shipping cost has not been disclosed. The biggest problem is that IT DOESN'T WORK. I tried different plugs and checked the bulb which showed the problem was with the unit I bought. i will return it

I'm giving this a 3 simply because it doesn't work reliably with a coated or painted bulb (I haven't tried a metal coated bulb). limited testing I've found that a simple touch doesn't give the claimed results. I got it to work as advertised, however this happened after I put my hand on the lamp base and then it only worked as advertised about 50% of the time. However, it works with dimmable LEDs.
