excellent functionality and price

excellent price and functionality. I modify them by inserting the linkage into a thin (red) RTV filled high temp silicone brass tubing after removing the black heat shrink tubing to make my tubing fit better. This ensures excellent thermal conductivity of the compound and protects it from physical and chemical attack. I've found these K's to provide an accurate temperature in my application (coffee roasting).

Pros
  • temperature probes and sensors
Cons
  • damaged

cheap but nothing wrong with them.

After 1 hour of thermal stabilization of thermocouples and data logger, all thermocouples agree within 0.3K. They also only drift a few tenths of a degree over time. This is quite surprising considering how cheap they are and they have mini jacks attached. I am very happy with this purchase and will likely purchase more. UPDATE: After 10 hours in a thermally stable environment, all sensors agreed within 0.1K with no drift during the 20 second observation period.

Good product for the price

The main problem with these thermocouples is that the pins on the connector are not made from thermocouple materials (chromel and alumel). Using it with an inexpensive reader will not cause additional problems, since the internal wiring in the reader is most likely also made of ordinary copper. If the connector pins and the reader have different temperatures, the displayed temperature will not be correct and the displayed value will drift until the temperature equalizes. Using these…
