how can you appreciate warmth when it's supposed to be cooling? We have several of these that we always keep in the freezer and this one was given as a gift and has been well used.

Wanted this for our Summer Wine Festival weekend to keep white wines cold or just to chill red wines in the summer heat. I like the lightness and packaging of the product, but the wine just doesn't keep you cold. I will use it but will not buy again.

I bought this because of the good reviews. While better than nothing, the cooling gel inside is less effective than the regular gel lunch bags I use for my kids and on picnics. This is a brilliant idea, I just wish it was at least as effective as any other freezer bag you can buy anywhere.

We took 2 bottles of pre-chilled wine for a picnic. Bottles in frozen vacuum sleeves were transferred to an insulated bag. After 2 hours when we opened the bottles the wine was slightly cooler than room temperature but not as cold as when placed in vacuum cases. Old school ice packs work much better.

I'd say it takes about 20 minutes for the wine to reach the ideal temperature (assuming you start with a cold bottle). If you put it on a cold bottle I'd say it lasts for hours (but let's face it, no bottle lasts that long). When folded, it even fits into the smallest freezer. I'll keep this review simple. This item will keep an ALREADY CHILLED bottle of red or white wine CHILLED indoors for 30-40 minutes. That's why I use them when I'm watching TV and eating lunch. This item will NOT completely cool a warm bottle of wine, especially if done outside in summer. no Jose! Again, the cooling factor only lasts about 30-40 minutes at room temperature. Two of these have been in my freezer for 15 years and they still work great. I've given many other gifts, sometimes to good friends, so that when I go to their house and they serve white wine, I don't have to drink it too warm. If your bottle of wine is at room temperature, it will take a good 20 minutes to chill it. We love these items when we picnic at wineries. We take it to the fridge with ice packs and when we go to the winery and buy our bottle we put this baby on top and it keeps the bottle cold all the time when we're out on the picnic, even in the hot weather.
