Don't confuse this excellent hammer with junk from China.

Don't mistake this great hammer for Chinese junk. Excellent quality. Very well done. I see another reviewer says it's made in the USA. I did in England.

I also like the fact that I can use the same hammer for.

I've always used a mallet and was afraid I'd miss out on a large hitting area, but found I wasn't. I quickly caught on to the size and feel "I'm used to the Vaughn hammer. In fact, I now have more control when alternating between tapping with the chisel and hammering up close. I also like the fact that I can use the same hammer to smash a joint. I usually give not five stars but I don't know how I would change it to improve it.

Pros
  • 11-1/4" length
Cons
  • Modern

I also like the fact that I can use the same hammer for.

I've always used a mallet and was afraid of missing a big face, but I found that wasn't the case. I quickly got used to the size and feel of the Vaughn Hammer. In fact, I now have more control when alternating between tapping the bit and driving in the toe. I also like the fact that I can use the same hammer to pound the hinge in. I don't normally give anything five stars but I don't know how I would change it to make it better.

Pros
  • Hand tool
Cons
  • Requires socket

Made in USA for hand tools

Good medium duty demolition hammer. Replaceable nylon faces (bolts in hammer body). Nylon surfaces are not as soft as a rubber mallet, but are softer than a plastic mallet. Attractive chrome finish. Hardwood handle (I don't think hickory). The manufacturer even took the time to sand down the wedges and handle that protrude from the chrome plated hammer body without damaging the chrome finish. After all, who doesn't like chrome? I would be confident in purchasing any product Vaughan has to…

Pros
  • Hammers
Cons
  • Damaged
