Shit! Ethernet cable

Claimed for Ethernet 6a cable. The 6a ethernet cable contains a shield and a 4-way separator to prevent interference. However, these connectors stack the pins close together in the connector body, making the 6a look more like a 6. Also, the connectors are capped at the end so there is no way to push the pins through the connector to ensure each pin fits properly and is in place. I'm pretty sure this caused an arc in my connection because I couldn't see where the pins actually sat. I hadโ€ฆ

Doesn't work well with 26 gauge wire

I wasted a dozen connectors before I got it right. The secret I found was to bend the end of the wire so it doesn't slip out of the hole. white in one direction and colored in the other for straight, non-crossed. Then slowly squeeze and move the wire from side to side. Difficult to see at my age of 75, make sure you have 4 whites to one side. and 4 colored ones on the other side. Hope that helps. I will, but again, not sure.

Doesn't work with 26 AWG cable

This should have worked with my shielded CAT-7 cable but didn't. and keystone jacks to prevent static electricity. Second, those connectors with 26 AWG wire didn't make a good connection. I must have made over a dozen. I finally got my hands on some shielded connectors and plugs from Cable Makers and they were very basic in comparison and required no tools other than wire cutters. This required a $37 crimping tool.

Pros
  • Positive only
Cons
  • Sad hardware

DO NOT BUY for computers and accessories

I bought this along with their crimping tool: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07TV3JLCK/ ref =ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1I regret this purchase: - It is very difficult to align the cables in the small part and there are no detailed instructions as there is a page for the smaller part. - Even if you manage to insert the cables in, they keep moving even if they are as straight as a metal rod. And to top it off, once you have everything perfectly aligned and in place, eventually

Pros

I tried 5 times to connect them with the Cat6 cable. I have one to make some sort of connection that only gave me 100Mbps connection on the line. OK.
