Suitable for cars and car electronics

These are quality cameras with decent picture quality. I bought them after installing a pair for my friend and commenting on the high quality. I am installing on a 40 year old Class C van with very poor rear/side visibility.

Install PAL at factory.

The camera itself is beautifully finished. Very durable and versatile. Update: Factory PAL camera setup. But my system is NTSC. Loved the design and the rugged, clean look, I took it all apart and found a solution. On the board from the factory they have a diode that switches to PAL or NTSC. So all you have to do is move the diode from one solder pad to another. If you don't have enough soldering skills I wouldn't do it. Build quality seems decent, but the camera itself is very, very poor.

The image this thing produces is terrible due to a poor sensor with an extremely low dynamic range. That even compares poorly to other rear cameras in the $20 price range. Everything is blurry and hard to see unless the lighting is perfect, which isn't often the case with this app. IR is worse than useless as the LEDs will fire and then cycle off and on again when there are reflections (e.g. from the exhaust). The camera is also more difficult to align due to its design. But it seems to be…
