Bad: Our expensive large glass unit is torn and needs replacing (see photo). Space to avoid overheating in the sun. It was pretty easy to put on and easy to take off. Note: We live in an area that does NOT get very hot. The sun shines directly through this window, but the outside temperature never exceeded 80 degrees. But even on a very cold day (17 degrees), the black film got very hot when exposed to the sun. We didn't notice any cracks until the film had lasted about three months.

This product definitely blocks light. However, do not place it near windows that are exposed to direct sunlight for a long time. This film completely blocks out all light. I installed it on a south facing window and a west facing window and the bedroom is now completely dark during the day. It is also an excellent insulator.
