Description of 🔍 Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 Nikon F Mount: Ultra-Macro Lens with 2.5-5X Magnification for Stunning Close-ups

MACRO SHOOTING: The compact, lightweight, and versatile high magnification Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5x Ultra Macro lens from Venus Optics is specially designed with an extended working distance. It is optimized for macro shooting between 2.5X – 5X life size and allows sufficient lighting on the object for easier shooting in the field. CLOSE-UP IMAGING: Dedicated to extreme close-up imaging, this lens is a specialized macro lens for photographing subjects at magnifications greater than life-size. Specifically developed for macro photography, this lens is designed for use within a 2.5:1 to 5:1 magnification range for producing greater-than-life-size imagery. MAGNIFICATION: Wide-angle design with magnification range from 2.5 to 5X benefits the high magnification design by providing greater depth of field compared to lenses with telephoto or longer focal lengths. Moreover, it offers manual focus operation for precise control over focusing distance when working with close-up subjects. OPTICAL DESIGN: Complementing the close-up capabilities, the optical design incorporates 8 elements in 6 groups with an extra-low dispersion element to deliver an unprecedented corner to corner sharpness. This dispersion element reduces color fringing and chromatic aberrations for a high degree of clarity.

A nice option for the money, one of the best deals.

I will support one of the reviews about macro rings - the result is much better, not even comparable. The goods arrived wrapped in the way that a bride is not wrapped on her wedding day. Finding a ring light for this lens would be great! The very first example was added to the review, it’s somehow not good to talk about photographic equipment without the result of the work. :) PS After the large Nikkor lenses, at first it seemed that this was some kind of mosquito proboscis. But a couple of…

Pros
  • Compact (the subject is normally visible), the zone of sharpness is at a good distance from the front lens. The brightness is even better than expected.
Cons
  • The cap is removed very tightly, the feeling that I will roll the front of the lens. But this, I think, is just a problem with a new unrolled lens. The zoom extends part of the lens and there is a good chance of sucking up dust quickly.

An ideal product for any type of consumer.

Different pros: A very interesting lens. It gives a strong approximation, but you need to understand that the depth of field is critically small and there is little light, without additional equipment and light it is difficult to take full-fledged photos. but allows you to see what is hidden from the eyes) With its cons. for this class of lenses, the lack of light and depth is normal . I would like normal macro rails)

Best price for this product, will buy more!

A lens for those who love a good macro. Yes, you can’t take it off your hands, but this is not necessary. The aperture can be clamped down to 16 and you get excellent sharp pictures at 5x. Basically, there is no competition. I didn't find any other options. Macro rings do not even give a close result.

Pros
  • Great zoom!
Cons
  • The box is huge

Excellent lens Extreme Macro

Wonderful lens for extreme macro work. Crystal clear wide open, a bit blurry wide open, but that's the case with almost all dedicated macro lenses. The working distance is stable, about the same at 2.5x and 5x magnification. Can also be used with an extension tube kit for even greater magnification. When used with an APS-C sensor, this results in around 8.5x magnification (at the sensor), which translates to around 40x magnification for an 18MP 600dpi image. Nothing for the average user…

SUPER ULTRA MACRO LENS

SUPER LENS – Excellent build quality and super sharpness. After about 500-600 hours trying to get a reasonably acceptable sharp image with a more expensive alternative to this ultra macro lens (return for refund), I was hesitant to buy this highly rated lens. IMPRESSIVE! Right out of the box, my very first Focus Stack was near perfect. Very impressed with this Laowa 25mm 2.5-5X lens. An excellent addition to my macro rig (Canon 5D Mark III, Stackshot, Adaptalux Lighting Studio and Helicon…

Great macro lens! for camera and photo

I am completely satisfied with the purchase of this Laowa macro lens. I've been using it for a few months now and there is so much to say about this lens. As a macro lens, it doesn't have internal stabilization or autofocus capabilities, but I'm fine with that. I use stable tripods to control the stabilization issue and manual focus is best for macro lenses, at least in my case. Manual focus is a little stiff, but it's precise and stays put without hesitation. I like being able to choose…

Non-generic macro

First off, this is a great lens with solid construction, excellent sharpness and a good price for its capabilities. However, if you're shooting something much larger than +/- centimeters, you should probably check out one of Laowa's other offerings. Also, keep in mind that you'll likely need a splint, stacking software, and definitely lots of light. I've had the lens for a few weeks and have barely scratched the surface of its capabilities. The learning curve is very steep when dealing with…

Incredible with the right exercise

This is my first macro lens and I am new to macro photography. At first I did not dare to buy it due to the lack of reviews, but I decided to try anyway. The build quality is surprisingly solid. Maybe the best lens I have. Very tight tolerances. Macros of this magnitude require training, and this lens is fully manual. This means you set the aperture manually and need a focus guide to get everything in focus. Manual is preferable in person at this magnification. At first I didn't know how to use

Pros
  • Everything great!
Cons
  • Hello

Regarding the Venus Optics Laowa 25mm f/2.8 2.5-5X Ultra Macro Lens: The first thing that struck me is that there are no electronic contacts at the base of the lens, so the lens doesn't come with the camera can communicate . general! This is a really cheap lens. The next thing that struck me (as a professional photographer) is that in order to shoot at noon in bright sunlight at f/11 at 1/250, you need to set the ISO to 1600. What this tells me is that the apertures marked on the lens are…
