Not for use in 1x/2x drives, but generally very good

After "burning" a large chunk of this spindle I had no more frisbees. They all burned well except for the top slice (see note below). I've used them on both Mac OS X 10.4.11 and Windows XP Professional. I've made simple drag-and-drop copies, burned disk image files and ISO images, and used them with Data Backup 3. I used a Samsung SE-S084D portable drive, which is very demanding for the hard drive used. This is a very experienced coaster maker! Even Samsung didn't break drives. (It's on their…

Great media, small limitations

I am very pleased with the Verbatim DataLifePlus 50 Pack (#95203) Made in Taiwan. . I burned 600 DVD-Rs and they were perfect. I was hoping these 100 steps would be the same, but they aren't. Compare #95203 (50 packs) with #97017 (100 packs) Same: Manufacturing Company - Mitsubishi Chemical Corp. - 1st level of the manufacturer. co.Same: Production ID: MCC 03RG20Same: silver top and teal bottom Difference: 50 packs DVD-Hub are marked "VERBATIM DVD-R 16X” 100 packs are not marked at all. Diff…

Great discs for my specific situation

I had a similar situation as another reviewer. My computer, which is now 5 years old, still does everything it needs to, except the disc can't write to 16x (or faster) media. When all the local shops were failing me, I took these discs. I only have ten discs but they all burned perfectly. Thank you Verbatima! My only (minor) issue is that both sides of the disc look the same, so make sure you mark the correct side after burning! But heck, as long as it works on my computer, it's a tiny nitpick.

Pros
  • Silver finish is ideal for screen printing. Read compatible with most DVD-ROM drives and DVD players
Cons
  • No form required

Must be a bad batch

Error, error, error. Tried both home computers. Tried 2 different software. Software reinstalled. Copies DVD but stops during burning process. One of them plays on my PC but not on any of my home DVD players. (The only reason I bought them was because they should last longer). All I know is that Sony works well. I've ordered different brands of DVD-Rs, I've used Revain and never had a problem. My Nero and burner are fine. I think it's a bad lot but now I don't trust the brand name. UPDATE…
