Verbatim DVD+R Double Layer 8X 8.5GB - High-capacity Dual-layer Discs for Extended Data Storage Review

This is absolute rubbish. The customer service I received was only matched by poor quality when I attempted to return these items after realizing how useless they were. Every disc I tried to burn a movie to failed. Everyone. It took me a few weeks to realize that the media was my problem, and then my comeback was over. To be honest this wasn't a typical return, it was a faulty product and should have been returned. DO NOT BUY.

wheels are ideal. Shooting at 8x is no problem, the printed label is very handy. BUT when I received the package the spindle it was in was sealed with tape and there was a 'damaged' sticker on the outside. The first 3 discs on top of the spindle were defective, two with incomplete data and one was a copy of the Arsenic and Old Lace retail DVD. strange. My mother is enjoying the film, two previously written but unsuccessful CDs have gone in the trash and I have 47 more CDs that seem fine.

I had to return this when I got the second 'invalid media' message during recording. I estimate that 40% of the disc was not recognized by my computer during the burning process. I even changed the programs I use to make sure blank DVDs are the problem. After 3 different writing programs I'm pretty sure the problem was the spaces and not my PC. The first half of the pack was fine, but then messages about inserting a blank floppy disk suddenly came up after the computer tried several times to recognize it first. I checked my driver for my DVD drive and ran a hardware test. Everything was fine so I tried another DVD not in this box and it was recognized immediately. Like some other reviewers, I bought this cheap thinking I got a lot of good quality Verbatim discs. Also, like several other reviewers, I had failure issues with these Life Series drives almost immediately. The first drive I used worked fine, but the next two came out with an ERROR. I tried them on two different computers and on a separate VHS/DVD burner. I've tried a few more discs with exactly a 50% success rate.
