The Coolest Portable Fish Finder

This thing is amazing. Me and 4 friends stayed on my fishing boat. Each person could plug their phones into the console and see the fish and bottom structure. We pushed our limits that day and had a great time. It was easy to set up and works great on your tablet with Navionics split screen mode. Cheaper than most color screen fish finders if you already have the right device.

Great unit! for automotive and automotive electronics

Perfect fit for my 17 Boston Whaler. Combine this with a 7-inch Nexus tablet for under $200, add Navionics and you have an amazing chartplotter/fishfinder combo for under $400. Can't get over him. The sonar mapping feature is amazing and the sonar itself works very well. I'm grounding at 25 knots and the detail is impressive for such a compact unit.

fun to experiment.

I haven't quite got the accuracy I need yet and I'm playing with the placement of the sensor. But I like to use it on my cell phone and don't have to install a full-fledged fish finder in a small space. I also like when my phone can do multiple things and I like the Navionics interface at a great price. For my purposes I will continue to try to adjust hull placement as I have accurate, simple through hull sonar that does not find fish. Maybe over time I'll try installing a transom mount as I…

It was easy to install and now I don't have to store anymore.

It was easy to install and now I don't have to tell everyone in the boat how deep it is. It shows the structure well and is very detailed. Problems: I worry that I'll either forget to turn it off when I'm done fishing or it'll turn on when it gets hit. Found it in my boat after moving items (button was pressed). I also have to remember to turn it off every time I get off the boat, otherwise it keeps working even when the smartphones are not connected. Overall: This is a great concept and a…

Installed in Waverunner VXR (PWC).

I installed this in the cargo area of a 2019 Yamaha Waverunner VXR. I used a 1" RAM "dash" ball mount to the left of the VXR's dash and an anodized aluminum motorcycle handlebar cell phone mount to mount my phone. I used RTV silicone sealant to attach the gauge to the dash. in the hull, on the opposite side of the water box, being careful to choose a spot that didn't touch the bottom plate so there would be no interference. I then used strong plastic Velcro to attach the T-Box receiver to the…
