Description of Viair 92831 Nickel Plated Check

Use thread sealant for proper installation. For use with all systems requiring a check of air flow or to replace a check valve. Recommended torque for 1/8" is 10~11 ft.lbs. Check valves keep high pressure from causing high amperage restarts. High quality solid brass and steel construction.

Non stainless steel for motor

Used in my carbonation line as a second line of backflow protection. Works perfectly, no adjustment required. I wanted stainless steel but the nickel plated plate serves that purpose as it was available.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Some little things

Not Recommended - Engine

Used for my truck suspension airbags. Worked great until they put a few rocks in the bed. Torn to pieces. I ordered a piston valve from Grainger. That might be fine for horns, but not for airbags. Not recommended.

Pros
  • Permanent Test Results
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

Waste of money on motorcycles and powersports

Like all the other reviews, I got mine to replace my Viair 444 compressors which had leaking check valves set to EXACT torque specs and leaked on first fill. My air tanks are up. spend $20. Should have spent $50 and gotten the SMC valves for the first time.

Errors in one day on valve parts

I fitted a horn kit to my truck. They came with a Viaair compressor and a check valve. The valve started leaking, so the compressor kicked on every time I started the truck. Eventually the leak was enough to back pressure the compressor and the fuse blew on take off. I replaced it with a new check valve (this one) and it did the same thing within a day. Garbage. Obtain a check valve from Granger part #4DHU4. It's like day and night the difference in quality and work. SMC also makes very high…

Keep your receipt under Motorcycle & Powersports.

. The first one came with my compressor and ran for about a year with no problems until one day it decided to stop operating entirely. It didn't work properly from day one. The leak was enough to drain my tank for about 5-7 hours leading me to the conclusion that there was no way it could be a check valve, and especially not a new check valve, so I spent a lot of time looking. a leak. As a result, the only thing left is the check valve where the leak could be coming from. I replaced it with an…

Nickel Plated ck Viair Valve 1/4 " NPF Poor Quality

This valve looks fine on the surface. And if you blow both ends "before" installing it seems to work fine. BUT if you do that Valve Tighten To ensure that air doesn't leak around the threads (even when using pipe thread tape), "SOMETHING" goes wrong and it doesn't seal (preventing air from flowing back into the compressor), resulting in a very difficult or even tight fit will not start, which can damage the motor IMHO, SOMETHING could be that when you tighten the valve, it deforms the hole…
