PLEASE don't buy this item it's very bad because they tell you it works and it's not true. I received it and it didn't work at all and they when I sent it back they keep 15% of the price so I lost about $80 with S&H for this experiment. if you don't want to lose your money, don't try

If you don't mind someone moving blurry and really blurry then this is for you! However, if you can get the people in the picture to sit perfectly still, that's fine, but then it's like looking at a painting. There is a lag, and the ability to see the movement of a person's mouth is random at best. We have it connected to a good phone line and my son, who has one, is also connected to a good phone line. I can't imagine what you would see if your phone line was questionable.

First, the camera is of very poor quality. I'm exposed to a lot of light even with the blinds closed and on a rainy day. Also (perhaps because of this) there are almost no flowers. If you're looking for an affordable way to purchase a videophone, the Vialta Beamer set-top box is your best bet. An inexpensive device will work with a standard phone line and a television with video inputs.
