Poorly finished in kitchen and dining room

Broke on first use. The hand went off! I'm not talking about the needle, I'm talking about the hand itself! I want to replace an item or get a refund, but that option isn't available in my account.

Great print quality!

Very high quality tortilla press. However, using a press takes practice in the same way that you need to practice rolling pie dough. You need to use a ziplock plastic bag on top of the press to keep the dough from sticking and you can't roll out the dough too thin. Also, the batter needs to be the perfect consistency, something you can learn from any Mexican chef! :)

The store did not buy again.

Very satisfied. I was cheap and made the cakes by hand and with a rolling pin. You should place the dough slightly off-center so it doesn't slide over the edges, or use a smaller ball of dough. I would order again. Also let the weight of the cast iron balance the dough, it doesn't take much force to do the job. The cast iron will break if too much weight is put on the handle, although it appears to be better finished than the picture when it breaks. Remember this is not steel. Enjoy!

The handle broke after a few uses.

On the other hand, it worked fine for a while after we figured out how to wind up plastic wrap on a press (don't even bother without plastic wrap, it sticks and won't flatten out very much). Unfortunately, the pen broke after a few uses, making it practically unusable now. I expected better from Victoria but I'll email them to see if they fix this and update when I get a response. Update: Customer service was VERY responsive and sent a replacement hand straight away. Unfortunately part of the…

This press has a hidden superpower!

At first I didn't understand why I should pay more for a cast iron press when I could only get a half price press that could make decent cakes. But this press has a secret superpower. On this piece you can press and bake cakes at the same time. Simply heat the press on the stove with the lid closed to heat both sides, place the ball of dough on top and press. It makes a squeaky sound like a balloon, and then you have a beautiful, perfectly compressed and perfectly baked cake. Close the lid and…

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • High price

I got this tortilla press for chapati/roti. But unfortunately this is not a suitable product for making roti. Some points below: It is too heavy and it takes at least 4 presses to make one tortilla. Chapati needs flour, not oil, so it sticks to surfaces, plastics, or even silicone. - Inefficient as it requires a lot of pressure, the chapati is not thin and needs to be turned 4 times to reach the desired thickness. - PERFECT! for cooking PURIS or anything that needs oil. Brush the surface with a

This press is amazing!

Those abs are amazing! I bought this to make homemade paleo tortillas. The reviews that it's only for corn tortillas are fake. If you care about the handle, it's attached to the bottom plate with a thick metal screw and pin. They even send you an extra one. Most of the pressure comes from the weight of the panels. If you're sticking a ball of dough onto a plate by pushing the plates all the way in on the first squeeze and then trying to push them all the way out, you're not using the item and…

Perfect tortillas every time!

I grew up in Southern California, beans, rice and tortillas are home cooking. I make my own beans and rice but use store bought tortillas. I decided I was done with that, bought a Masa Harin and started making my own. I used a rolling pin, the bottom of the pan, but couldn't get the evenly thin tortilla I wanted. I researched the tortilla presses, read the reviews and decided to pay a little more for these. I'm glad I did. The press arrived in good condition and I was given two rivets and…
