At first I didn't understand why I should pay more for a cast iron press when I could only get a half price press that could make decent cakes. But this press has a secret superpower. On this piece you can press and bake cakes at the same time. Simply heat the press on the stove with the lid closed to heat both sides, place the ball of dough on top and press. It makes a squeaky sound like a balloon, and then you have a beautiful, perfectly compressed and perfectly baked cake. Close the lid and heat between the tortillas.
