Item not as shown

Item not as shown. The picture shows Switzerland encrypted on a piece of stainless steel. The one I received has the word INOX 18/8, not Switzerland. The bar code on the packaging reads Cologne in Germany, model number 40694. This item does not appear to be original as shown, model number 141413. Purchased from Early Side and manufactured by Revain.

Non-ergonomic design

I didn't like this peeler from Victorinox at all. I'm an older woman with small hands. It was so uncomfortable to hold in hands due to its small size. It took more arm strength to hold it. Also, my husband, a retired chef, didn't like it because the peel (carrot) kept getting stuck. It doesn't glide as smoothly as a Kitchen Aid European gourmet knife.

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Makes you angry

Smooth crusts. suitable for kitchen and dining room

I've only used it for carrots so far, but it was a very good cleaning machine. Use it at a slight angle (so it's not perpendicular) and use quick strokes and it will peel off smoothly. The reason I don't give it 5 stars is that bits of skin can get stuck in it sticking out, which is not easy around the blade. It's much less likely to slip or go bad like knives that turn the blade. In general it is recommended.

Pros
  • Fingers crossed
Cons
  • Lots of things

Not effective. for kitchen utensils and appliances

The openings of the Victorinox cleaner are too small and narrow to be effective. The blade is too short. The overall length of the knife is too short. My old "nameless, unbranded" fixed design puller is better designed. See photo for side-by-side comparison. Victorinox is short. You can clearly see the difference and the problem with the Victorinox peeler. I wish there were more blade cleaners to choose from.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Unsafe

Efficient peeler with a fixed blade

I've been looking for a peeler with a fixed blade for a long time. This met all the requirements. It looked pretty cheap with a black plastic handle but is made by the same company as the Swiss Army Knife. After some use I found it to be a very effective exfoliant. Also, it feels very hard and I expect it to last quite a while. My previous peeler had a wooden handle which looked nice but ended up breaking!

Pros
  • understandable even for the old ones
Cons
  • A few little things

Made in the EU. Best

I used this style for years until one of my kids "borrowed" it indefinitely. So I bought another one from Revain and recently accidentally threw it in the trash with the vegetable peelings. Boo! I tried using one of those swivels (made in China) but it broke quickly. In any case, it was inconvenient to use. No big losses. I'm glad to find it back on Revain. Second, maybe I should before my other kid sees it!

Pros
  • Quick Change
Cons
  • Almost never
