Victron Energy Smart Battery 🔋 Protect with Bluetooth - 100A, 12/24V Review

I bought this SBP in January 2021 to use in a camping battery box that I don't use that often. I needed a battery box for a recent hurricane and it didn't work at all. After further research I found several posts that said they cannot be used with an inverter. It wasn't in the product description. DO NOT USE THIS SBP BETWEEN BATTERY AND INVERTER! This design does not make this a SMART BATTERY PROTECTION device.

Let's start with the naming. Apparently "Smart" means Bluetooth in Victron parlance. My device doesn't say "Smart Battery Protect" but it does say "Battery Protect (Smart)" on the box. My phone doesn't recognize it as a Bluetooth device and I don't know what to make of it. Bluetooth or not? Now we come to problem number two. This thing is amazing. I'm so glad I upped my order to get the Bluetooth model. This eliminates the need for a battery switch. You can turn off the battery at will through the app. Also, this is more limited bluetooth programming and not the morse code way of programming these things.
