Excellent brush. It smelled at first but it's easy to fix.

This is the first shaving brush I have ever bought and I got it because unlike boar and badger shaving brushes you don't have to kill a horse to get your hair. Anyway, I'm very happy with it. It foams and distributes the shaving cream more evenly and sparingly than with your fingers. My only real complaint is that I have a typically male hand and find the grip so small that it was a little awkward to hold at first. If I get another brush I'll probably look for one with a larger diameter handle.

My Best Shaving Brush

This is my first attempt at a horsehair brush and by far the best of the six brushes I own. The olive wood handle is short and fits comfortably in the hand, being held with the fingers rather than the palms. The bristles are on par with a clean badger brush but seem to lather up much faster than any other brush I've used, from silver tip to boar brush. I've been using this daily for the last week to break it down properly and not lose a single hair. It takes a little longer to get used to than…

Bargain shaving accessories

I really like this brush. The horsehair is really good, it's soft and gives great lather. The brush is small but works very well and I'm glad it's an eco-friendly product (ie pet friendly). The olive wood handle is nice but small and that's the only downside I have for the brush. I have a large hand and when I hold the wooden part while soaping the neck and head three times, my hand gets tired like I'm holding a pen and writing a multi-page essay. If I could get this brush with a larger handle…

Pleasantly Surprised

I was pleasantly surprised at how good this brush performed after the first few brush cleanings. After getting rid of it I found it to work great for its intended purpose. Now I have a silver tip and it's better, but the value of this tip is great. The smell at the beginning is worth the effort to get it.

  • Great Overall Performance

very impressive Shaving Brush

I have a larger version of this shaving brush. It's a 50/50 mix of mane and tail. It's got a bigger knot, but it's the same mix of hair and an olive wood handle. I am very excited about this brush. It is very soft and the wooden handle is just beautiful. Fit and finish are excellent. It looks like my silver tip badger, I wonder if they had the wrong brush in the box. she only lost a few hairs, none after the third shave. Even when it was first wet I didn't notice the smell. the nicest $40 brush

Great brush: for shaving and depilation

This is my first horsehair and I'm pleasantly surprised. I encounter suds and this brush does the job perfectly. I was a little worried it might be too stiff (horsehair) but it's about as good as a badge. Since I've been using it, not a single hair has fallen out. (2 weeks)

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • For seniors

Not what I expected

Although I've said it's not what I expected, that doesn't mean it's a bad brush. On the contrary, this is probably a great brush for the right person. My only issue was that the horsehair was a lot softer than I thought it would be. This "spreads out" the brush for my taste. It also took me a lot of effort to get the shaving cream off of it when I was done. The design and quality of the brush is top notch, it just doesn't suit me! TO UPDATE! Well, it just proves that first impressions aren't…

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Not bad

Tiny dynamo on shaving attachment

This was my first horsehair brush and it gives a great shave. It's quite a small brush, but it contains enough lather for 3 shaves. It feels like a cross between a badger and a wild boar, and I also love that horsehair brushes are made from a renewable resource - horse mane and tail. The olive wood handle is exquisitely crafted, offering good balance and dexterity.

Pros
  • Crossing my fingers
Cons
  • Slightly torn
