3 out of 30 days it was not possible to return Windows.

Worked as intended until it started producing garbled images on both 10-bit and 12-bit inputs. 8-bit input still works. I removed it from the circuit by feeding my Fire TV Cube directly into the TV's input, everything works fine.

Pros
  • Three EDID audio settings: use 2CH setting for 3.5mm stereo headphone output; 5.1ch setting for optical audio output to 5.1ch surround receiver; Use pass option for HDMI TV speaker sound.

Purchased to extract HDMI audio from DeX

I'm using this between my DeX USB C-HDMI adapter and a monitor to extract sound from HDMI. So far it works perfectly. Always connects video and audio when I connect my phone. And the output sound is pretty good and solid

Pros
  • . Does not support VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) which are part of HDMI 2.1. This model is HDMI 2.0b.

Not what I needed. Couldn't even figure out how to use it.

I needed something to connect a Bluetooth transmitter to a TV that doesn't have a headphone jack. All the research I've done has shown that I need this device for this. nope All I needed was an audio output cable (red and white) to the headphone jack. My fault, but I couldn't even figure this thing out, and I'm pretty tech-savvy.

Pros
  • Model: VHD-UHAE does not support ARC (Audio Return Channel), please check the latest model "UAEP" or "VHD-UHAE2" to apply ARC.
Cons
  • Expensive

Love ViewHD on your home theater

I use headphones with my entertainment center. I connected it to the output of my TIVO Bolt and am using the View HD optical output. The only thing missing is a volume control. DAC with volume control. The sound quality is great (TIVO Bolt has a headphone jack, but the sound quality sucks). So ViewHD is a great solution for me.

Pros
  • Supports HDMI High Bit Rate (HBR) audio transmission through audio sampling rates of up to 192 kHz. 10-bit HDR (high dynamic range) and Dolby Vision pass-through; Supports CEC bypass; If you are interested in this model also check out the UHD3X1A and VHD-UHD4X1A models, they have a switch on the front for more flexibility

Great product, terrible cable connections.

This device worked great and did what I wanted it to do. It splits the signal from my Comcast DVR. I connect an optical cable to the BOSE Soundtouch 300 soundbar and HDMI to the TV. No ARC issues or audio latency issues or anything you've read about from soundbar owner issues. The video signal comes in 4k with no handshake problems. I would rate it 4 stars as the unit has terrible provisions for all wired connections but this does not reflect the product and its intended performance and…

Pros
  • Model: VHD-UHAE is HDMI 2.0b 18Gbps HDCP 2.2, one HDMI input per HDMI output + Toslink optical audio output + 3 5mm stereo headphone jacks.
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

Update: Was so happy with the original VHD-UHAE (5.1, 4k audio and Dolby Vision) that I decided to try VHD-UHAE2 to get DTS, 7.1 etc. He said he still had Dolby Vision. Used the same HDMI cables as for VHD-UHAE and Dolby Vision did NOT work. Audio was output in DTS format. Bought new HDMI cables because that was their solution to the problem. Still does not work. Returned to UHAE2 and just stayed with the original 5.1. Wow, never thought this would actually work. I bought a new 4K TV, but my…

Not working as advertised

I've seen so many reviews from people saying how well this works by extracting the audio stream from the HDMI signal and sending it somewhere else over an optical cable. Sounds great until it doesn't work anymore! I tried several configurations with it: 1) PC -> Extractor -> TV and Receiver (Displayport to HDMI via active adapter) 2) PC -> Extractor -> TV and Receiver. (HDMI port)3) PC -> Extractor -> Receiver (HDMI) +AND+ PC -> TV (HDMI separated)4) PC -> Extractor…

Pros
