This is a great camera and works perfectly; However, after shooting a few rolls of film, I realized that she had a serious light leakage problem. I then took the camera to a professional and he informed me that there was no sealant on the body to prevent this. Online sellers often remove the entire lining if it is damaged to keep it looking clean, new and in good condition. This is a scam and cost me an additional $70 for replacement. Do yourself a favor and order on another eBay site.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Some problems

No 50mm lens included

I bought a Canon AE-1 because my mother had one when I was a kid. Of course, I was also looking forward to a 50mm lens that I could take with me on trips. When I received the camera I found that it came with a cheap plastic zoom lens. I saved the purchase for travel but ended up buying it from a local camera store that I discovered shortly after purchase. The camera is mostly functional. However, sometimes after the picture is taken and the film is sent, the film is not sent or is not sent in…

Pros
  • Well built

This is a great camera for any film lover

This is a great camera for any film lover, whether you are a seasoned pro or a beginner this is the camera for you. It's very light compared to older models as it's mostly plastic rather than metal, making it a great camera to take anywhere. The viewfinder is so nice and clear and the light meter is easy to use. Just make sure you have a 6V battery or the camera won't work! I received mine in perfect condition, exactly as described by the seller. Can't wait to test this camera again and develop

great camera but not in the best condition

I've been looking at this camera for a long time so I really wanted to get it. When it arrived I was very upset to see there was a large tear in the bottom right corner of the viewfinder. Luckily that doesn't prevent me from seeing through the lens if I look through it, but it still sucks that it cracked. The camera was also very dirty (dirt and grime accumulated on the body) but all it took to clean it was a Lysol cloth and a few minutes of cleaning. In general, the camera wasn't in the best…

Pros
  • Not cheap but decent
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Camera not fully functional, already lost roll of film

Mirror does not go down after shutter releases, but does go down after film rewinds, but it shouldn't, it should come back down in one smooth motion. The shutter speed dial doesn't work either. When I hold the shutter button down in "B" mode, the shutter doesn't stay open. This is of course bad for long exposures. I paid 200 for what I thought was an AE-1 program like the photo shown and also the name on the item but got AE-1 instead. I wouldn't be dissatisfied if the camera worked 100%. Now I…
