Purchased 2. I have my XPS 13 which weighs just over 2 pounds. Works great. A bit exaggerated in my opinion. ROG Strix Hero III is a 17-inch laptop that weighs over 6 pounds. This mount works very well and supports my 15 inch Acer Triton 500 very well. This mount is an upgraded VESA 100 mount (and actually contains a VESA 100 plate) but uses a quick-release thumbscrew to switch plates, so I'm not complaining about the potential added benefit.
