Like original! - Hand blender

My Vitamix Super 5000 has seen better days. After years of faithful service, the wet container would seize and struggle and become horribly discolored and cloudy with daily use. I had no idea I could buy parts for this very old model but was glad I could. My old lid fitted perfectly and the jar was exactly the same as the original jar that came with the blender. If I can I will purchase a dry container and hopefully add many more years to the life of my Super 5000 workhorse.

Expensive but necessary

Works with my Vitamix 6300. Two stars deducted for two reasons. 1. $100 for a plastic bin is ridiculous, but since the whole unit was $450 I couldn't throw it away just because the plastic bin fell and cracked. I know there's an option for a bladeless container and a $50 lid (which is still ridiculous), but I went with a bladed container, concerned that they might get damaged if they fall down. 2. Perhaps the shine of your relationship has faded. I know; I was there. But after 13 years, this sparkling jar with a new wet blade assembly was just what I needed to start reusing my Vita-Mix 5000. It fits just like the original (I forgot how young we both used to be). now have a substitute for soups and…

New and improved. But exactly the same

I have had my Vitamix for 15 years now and after almost daily use the bearings in the jar are wearing out and a brown oily liquid is starting to leak. Luckily I was able to buy a jug for only a fraction of the cost of a brand new machine. It's lighter than my first one, partly because the blade body is plastic while the old one was metal, and partly because the plastic used for the new jar is different; thinner, smoother and looks slightly bluish. But even though it has been slightly modified…
