I'm really impressed with this, especially given how cheap it was. The macro lens is very good; Wide angle, fairly sharp in the center but it falls off at the extreme edges. I was very surprised that it is all metal and made in Japan. If you can't afford a big wide-angle lens, this one will do.
as a prefix for macros, it works well. As a wide-angle adapter, this is a bit disappointing. If dark areas of vignetting are not accounted for, the resulting image is not much wider than the lens this adapter is attached to. Tried with 50mm main lens, 28mm main lens and 18-55mm zoom. None of them make much of a difference.
I bought this add-on lens to be able to take group shots with my Panasonic digital camera. It worked as I expected. The only problem I've noticed with these lenses is that when zoomed out fully to take advantage of the lens' capabilities, there is vignetting and distortion around the edges. But all you have to do is zoom in a bit and the resulting images will be good.
I bought the wrong lens for my camera (Rebel T3i) but I still attached the adapter to the lens just to see what the effect would be and oh my gosh what an EXTENDED Difference. I even left a review on my YouTube channel! I'd like a real user experience, but the preview was impressive enough. It was packaged nicely and even came with a pouch for your wide angle lens. I'll definitely see if the Vivitar has a lens my size. It is necessary!
I just needed something affordable but I didn't expect it to be AMAZING. I put this wide angle lens on top of my 55mm lens to get a wider view - it looks bright or cloudy, that's the best way to describe it. It's not that bad, but it doesn't look very good when you're taking photos or recording videos. But it copes with its task - the review is wider than I wanted. The good news is that it wasn't defective or broken. Doesn't look cheap and is quite durable.
Several people have told me that most of these types of products are junk. I figured while it's not great, for less than $20 it's worth a try. Yes, it has its downsides, like heavy vignetting around focus and a little difficult to focus on, but still the photos are pretty decent. I would say the investment was worth it. I've attached some photos of a shot taken with a kit lens at about the same settings (left) as macro nesting (right) and you can decide for yourself.
For the price this is a nice little lens to experiment with. I used it on my Pentax with an 18-80mm kit lens. The first thing I noticed is that I have a vignette effect at the widest settings, so I have to increase it to around 24mm before it goes away. The second thing I noticed is that you blur a bit around the edges of the image and the image almost looks like it was taken from a video clip. However, if you need a general plan, you can experiment with it. They seem to get the best picture in
