There have been some reviews of spikes and floor protectors. What I did: I went to the local hardware store and bought 8 cap screws (M6-1.0 x 10mm). Remove the tip. Insert the cap screw through the base protector into the base. Works perfectly. (Yes, it would be nice if the manufacturer included these screws in the package. But what the heck.).

I liked it. They looked great and arrived well packaged and undamaged. I sent them back because I chose floorstanding speakers. They are a little shorter than I need. There were KEF Q350 speakers and they needed to be about 8 inches taller to get closer to my ears when I'm seated. Who would have thought speaker stands could be so expensive! That's a good value.

I liked the speaker stands. They have a nice finish and are easy to assemble. However, the screw legs are pointed. This is good for carpet, but not for hardwood floors. You have to screw something in where the legs go or a center bar that holds the top through the tube at the bottom long enough to hit first and the whole stand wobbles. I found that I had a couple of matching #6 metric pan head screws and they jacked them up so the midshaft wasn't an issue. I glued sticky felt pads to the screw…

Pros: Very stable with my 20lb speakers. The supplied carpet spikes have rubber inserts for wooden floors. Includes wrench for assembly. Easy assembly (mostly). making them difficult to move. One of my coasters had 3 carpet spikes that didn't screw in easily, I had to use a couple of vises to get these spikes all the way in, but there was minimal to no damage to the spikes. Overall good value for money - would probably get another set if I needed them.

Clear instructions ensure quick and easy assembly. Item was well packaged/protected with foam and plastic; without damage. All parts are there. Tips/Hints: (1) Thread the wires through the cylinders before attaching them to the bases, (2) Be careful with wire cutouts: the edges are sharp. I use Elac Debut 2.0 for my speakers and found the stands strong and stable and they look good too. I like the thick rubber feet. Very persistent on parquet floors. The kit included spiked feet that could also be used on carpets. It seemed to me that the racks are easy to assemble. The only tools you need is a Phillips screwdriver and the included mini wrench. Great stands! Very durable. Affordable prices. I put them together in no time (tools were included). If you want to hide the speaker wires during assembly, be sure to insert the wires during assembly. It's a lot easier than if you assembled everything. They match my old but powerful 19lb Altec speakers perfectly, which is less than the 22lb max load for these stands. These 22" tall VIVO speaker stands replace several shorter solid oak stands I bought from a reputable online car audio and home audio/video retailer, probably 20 years ago.
