So I've seen LOTS of feedback on how noisy these pumps are. Spring. I rolled the dice to see for myself. I can only speak for the "VIVOSUN 332 GPH Air Pump 14W" version, but it is NOT loud at all! In fact, it's slightly quieter than the two Whisper 150s it replaces. And damn, that thing moves air! Cranked it up and my 130 gallon tank looked like a boiling pot! The design is rather poor. A 1/4" rubber hose (pump manifold fitting) runs over the motor leaving rubber debris from rubber wear vibration away from the pump, otherwise it should not be angled, pointing straight up. The pump manifold fitting is also cut just enough so that the Manifold constantly vibrating against the radiator It could be a few millimeters longer and it wouldn't cause such an annoying rumble The aim is to make a disappointing product.

This pump worked fine for the first week but it got very hot and I don't know if that heat is causing anything inside but in the last few weeks it has stopped working. only vibrations. This device might be a little overkill for my three tanks; I run it at about 50% of max and still drop a little more. Although there isn't much air. It's relatively quiet, not really louder than the three small pumps it replaces. I'm really surprised at the placement of the outlet, which runs directly behind the back of the pump itself instead of to the side, but it works. Five gallon bucket for hydroponics. Hands down the best pump I've ever used! I had a bucket 3/4 full and had a 4 inch air stone in it and the water hit the top of the rim. Rschunimagu. Insanity!
