This is complete bullshit. I've tried them with a standard air pump and a 950gph industrial air pump and could only get huge bubbles to come out of the top of the unit. I even put it on its side and no luck. I read in another review where someone used Apoxy to seal the top to fix this. I did not purchase this item brand new just to be able to repair it! .Simply put. They just don't work. I get the same effect by just dropping the airline into the water.

The extra few inches on this air vent went a long way in getting our green pea soup into a cleaner pond. We added products to remove algae and beneficial bacteria. It wasn't until the air stones were in the pond that things really started to change. Thank you for a great product that saved us the hassle of draining and cleaning the pond. We've had smaller airstones, but these big ones really made a noticeable difference in the water, and our fish seem to be moving bigger and 'happier'.

Not as good as I thought. There aren't many bubbles. Most of the air escapes from the joint seals. One of them looks like the connector could snap at the slightest pressure. I was really excited about these based on the reviews but now I'm disappointed. I need them to replace inch and foot lengths in my hydroponic strawberry culture. At least my old ones still work! After reading the reviews of these airstones I decided to buy some epoxy and smoothed the entire top of the stone where the inlet tube is with epoxy. Let it dry for a few days and installed six of these in our pond (I also installed a high volume, six tube air pump that I bought on Amazon). great energy from sucked air! I think it's important that the epoxy covers the entire top circle. Also make sure you have a powerful air pump. Their weight also helps secure them to the ground.

I can only speak for hydroponic applications, DWC pumps at 950 gallons per hour (enough power). I have 6 of these and they all pale in comparison to the smaller round air stones. They just blow big bubbles from above and at a very slow speed. I tried 6 different Airstone designs and this one came in last. You don't have to epoxidize it to make it work well, that's ridiculous.
