🌊 VIVOSUN 5" Hydroponics Aquarium Tank Pump Air Stone Disc with Shell Review

Worked for a few months, bought 4. Canister cleaned and inlet valve broke off the aeroston. No pressure or force was applied. I appreciate their willingness to contact me and fix things.

I bought this for a bait tank and hooked it up to a Vivosun 950 gph air pump and installed a 1/4 inch ball valve to control airflow. This thing can blow bubbles. and good circulation to the tank (55 gallon keg) The bladders are nice and small and I know it's overkill for my setup but with a valve to control the airflow it works great for my needs!

I recently placed an order for 4 of these, 2 arrived faulty and had leaks. first photo on the left. It feels like they are made by 5 year olds who can't properly test the product. I will never buy Vivosun again. This quality is terrible. Basically, you have a 50% chance of getting a bad air stone from them. So please buy elsewhere.

Ideal for brewing compost tea (microbial tea). I use 7 gallon buckets and the 4 inch air stone seems to fit perfectly without kinking the air hose. Too large a diameter would cause the air hose to run at a 90 degree angle and restrict some of the airflow capacity. These air stones are fairly easy to clean and can be used for a variety of purposes such as hydroponics, aquaponics or just the aquarium in general. We will definitely buy more!

Hey fisherman, are you tired of that crappy aerator that does next to nothing? Switch to it! My size is 4 inches and it fits perfectly in a 5 gallon bucket. Even more bubbles! Sucks comfortably to the bottom of a CLEAN bucket. No sand etc. otherwise it won't stick. It would be nice to fill it with epoxy. Great product and great price. Unfortunately neither of the two stones I ordered fit: They had noticeable glue on the plastic sides, one stone even had traces of glue on the active side. Air escaped through the sides, not through the stone. I assume that is why the adhesive was applied to the defective product, but this issue has not been resolved. I also had a couple of suction cups as expected in the picture. Instead I got a double sided suction cup which failed to hold the stone securely in place.

The only reason I give this product 3/5 is because there are areas on the back where the bubbles don't go. You see an explosion of air/bubbles escaping throughout the stone, but it's really just the surrounding edges that are allowing air to escape and creating a ring of bubbles, so it's a bit misleading. . It releases more air with a small pump than cylindrical vents, but seems to produce less with more powerful pumps (about 15 l/min for each vent, cylinders release more bubbles). The other main benefit is that it doesn't rotate like cylinders. So if you have a low air pump (4L/min) or a large area you want the air stone to stay in the center, this is better.
