Works well, releases a decent amount of air even with low flow pumps and stays in place.
. It releases more air with a small pump than cylindrical vents, but seems to produce less with more powerful pumps (about 15 l/min for each vent, cylinders release more bubbles). The other main benefit is that it doesn't rotate like cylinders. So if you have a low air pump (4L/min) or a large area you want the air stone to stay in the center, this is better. If you have an air pump with a higher airflow (>15 l/min) and you don't care if the vent moves, cylindrical shaped vents are cheaper and work better.
