Nice little pump for the money.

I bought this pump for a hydroponic drainage system. It has a respectable stroke (5 feet) for a pump that draws only 15 watts of power. Interchangeable nozzles help you choose hose size. It works fine on my system and I'm happy with it so far.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Operating speed

Bad deal - aquarium pumps and filters

No switch, water flow settings are equally strong, poor instructions, hoses are intentionally folded in each package, resulting in a significant change in unit performance. It feels like they're all bugs that they could easily fix before selling, which I consider a bad deal.

Pros
  • High marks for tester support and durability
Cons
  • Empty

Dangerous. Far from 800 gph

Not even close to 800 gph. I bought a KEDSUM 880GPH submersible pump for about $2 more for comparison, and this model has significantly higher water consumption. This Vivosun pump also doesn't have a grounding plug, which poses a huge risk to things that have to live underwater. Not impressed.

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • Nothing

DO NOT RECOMMEND

UPDATE: Was fine while working but after less than 3 months despite regular cleaning and maintenance the pump is producing just a trickle and is no longer good. Had to urgently replace it with a 170gph pump which I've had for years and currently pumps 6x the volume than the Vivosun 400 :/ I'll try to see if the company lives up to the warranty and try again , I think. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This little pump works pretty well and is way better than the pumps from the local hardware store. Mine came…

60gph best in water pumps

I ordered this knowing full well that it wouldn't be 400gph. I figured 200 gallons per hour since I would be pumping about 36 inches of water which would normally cut the capacity in half! Luckily I decided to do a test before installing it in the sump filter for my new tank. I filled one with 5 gallons. 3 gallon bucket of water on the floor. I placed an empty bucket on the counter above (standard counter height). It took 3 minutes to empty the bucket which is about 60 gallons per hour. I…
