So USB power and charging technologies are everywhere these days. We've reached the point where it's appropriate to have tools that can give you specific readings of the charge cycle between charger and device. This device does that very well. And I love that you can press the select button and the device flips the display so it's reading the viewer's side, no matter which side of the device your USB ports are on.

This USB tester does exactly what it's supposed to do, showing real-time results on a clear and bright display. The nice thing is that it can be properly powered from either side, so it can be used anywhere on the USB C circuit. It also understands USB PD. This product did exactly what it was supposed to do. It lets me see the voltage and current my USB-C devices are using and also lets me know that my charger, charging cable, and connected device are working properly. The screen of this USB-C tester uses high-contrast colors, making it easy to read and very user-friendly. When I first received this product the device was completely dead - nothing could be read. Okay, one broken, happens. So I reordered it and the second one had (I thought) the same problem. When I plugged it into a known-working USB-C power source, the display was blank. But then I connected it with a cable plugged into the USB-A port on the same power source - and the display lit up. It shows a lot of useful information such as voltage, current and power as well as the protocol used. It comes with a cover over the USB port and is quite small making it safe and convenient to carry around. I didn't check any of the numbers for accuracy, but they looked reasonable. I've spent years repairing electromechanical devices with AC and DC clamps. I've often wondered how much power a USB device draws and recently discovered these gimmicks, mostly at cheap prices. Looking through the reviews I figured it would be best to find a USB 3.0 version that reads up to 0.1mA, volts etc with a clear backlit display. It looked great for $14.
