🎨 3M Clear Paint Surface Protection Tape Roll for Hood and Trunk Edges - 0.5 Inch x 30ft Review

This product works very well and I have used it in the past by ordering directly from 3M. However, it's pretty clear that this roll of 1/2 Edge Sealer was cut from a larger roll and not very well. The edge is slightly uneven and there are pieces of tape around the edge that will come off and need to be removed after application. Very disappointing compared to the same product direct from 3M.

Film unprofessionally cut into small strips. The cut is completely ugly, lots of chips making the edge look unprofessional and ugly. Don't waste your money and get original 3M film cut by 3M. UPDATE: Had to redo all 4 doors with self cut foil as it looked very unprofessional. So not only is it a garbage product, but you spend more time/money getting it right.

Just received my edge sealing tape and it appears to be cut from scrap with very jagged edges and sent in a bubble envelope with no protection whatsoever. This tape is totally unusable for thin-edged vinyl tape. I removed some of the material and the edge of the tape is not clean at all. I can't use it for my installation and it's being returned. Seems like others have had the same problem. It could work for gift wrapping, but not vinyl wrapping.

This is a very high quality, self-healing, clear vinyl tape that is excellent for protecting the edges of doors. Protects both your car and the one you face. The only reason for the 3 star rating is that this strap has slightly torn edges. I think that the glue was actually squeezed out at the edges. Maybe it's hot in the warehouse. Either way, it's perfectly clear, sticks well, and you can clean the torn edge/squeeze out the glue with a soft cloth dipped in alcohol.

This product is advertised as being for use as a truck hood and edge protector or maybe even a door edge protector. The material of the product is not a problem, the problem is how it is cut. This product appears to have been cut from a larger roll by someone in the garage. It is by no means presentable after application. Contrary to the photos in the description showing factory 3M reels, I received a thin paper core that almost fell apart when wrapped with two 3ft strips. As others have noted, it was clearly cut from a larger roll and the cutting process left some cardboard dust around the edge of the cutout. Luckily I only used this tape to secure the vinyl edge which was hidden under the speaker enclosure wrap so it wasn't as visible - this was mainly to keep it from stretching.
