I just bought this trimmer to replace a Wahl 9818 (stainless steel version) that died on mine. NOT impressed so far. Although the trimmer appears to work, it is not a very efficient trimmer. Trimming my beard to the length of the comb that comes with it takes many, many passes from different sides. Although my beard is relatively thick, it's not too long and coarse. After a very short haircut, five days of traveling makes me feel less stylish than I would like. I was expecting this product to perform better than the one I bought over 10 years ago but unfortunately it doesn't. Doesn't even cut. Ironically I still have the one I bought 10 years ago and with a new battery it performs better than this one. This shows you that just because the years have passed and you expect old things to evolve and improve, this is not always the case.
