Description of 🚲 Wald W10252 Bike Training Wheels (16-20 Inch Wheels, .75-1 Inch Frame Tubes)

For SINGLE SPEED BIKES: Features 5 1/2" diameter plated steel wheels with rubber tires. Intended for use by riders weighing up to 100 pounds. The new frame adapters enable this wheel set to be mounted on bicycles with .75 and 1.00-inch rear frame tubes. The training wheels can also be mounted onto bicycles with 1.25-inch rear frame tubes when the frame adapters are not used. Easy to install. To fit properly there must be at least 3/8" of axle outside the axle nut on both sides of the rear wheel. Wald training wheels are designed exclusively for single-speed bicycles, not designed for multi-speed bicycles.

Good old American quality

Heavy duty. I had to go to a bike shop and buy a longer axle (3/8" x 24tpi x 175mm - about $12) to have enough clearance for mounting. I have some skill and experience with hub removal / coasters, but other than that 'I need a bike in the shop to fit it in. It's not the wheels - none of them or the competition would fit our Schwinn 20'. These things are built like a tank, a bit heavy but way better than Chinese bitches. Check out the manufacturer's website - a small family business in Kentucky…

Very durable, I recommend this product

Great product. I replaced the training wheels that came with my kid's bike after they kept bending. Not only was this product more durable, it was a better product in every way. I highly recommend these training wheels. You will need a socket wrench and pliers to install them properly. Update: After using these training wheels for about 10 months I want to give them 5+ stars. Highly recommended! My kid has started riding a two wheeler and I am going to give it to a friend to reuse. They are…

Simple cannot be mounted as stated without screw extensions

This annoys me a lot. Several reviews have mentioned that you need screw extenders to install them. I should have listened to her. You CANNOT install them without an expander. Now my daughter is upset because she can't ride her new bike until dad buys her extensions. It doesn't make much sense to sell a product that can't be installed without additional hardware. You should specify it in the description. It also doesn't help that the additional item is actually more expensive than the training…

Much better than the Bell brand.

We used to buy Bell brand folding training wheels for a 20 inch Huffy at Walmart. I had a hell of a time tightening them because the bolt wasn't long enough to get a good grip on the nut. It broke and I had to buy new ones at the hardware store. This was very difficult to install as the Huffy bike has two frame pieces on either side of the rear wheel that curve outward, away from the tire. I had to get on my bike to install it. It took many, many attempts and over 3 hours, plus flat parts. But…

Will not fit a 20 " Dynacraft bike (unless you buy separate parts) - Avoid

I read the reviews but bought anyway as many of the reviews were not specific to the type Bicycle. Don't buy this for a 20" Dynacraft bike. It won't fit, for the following reason: 1. The shoulder width is too wide, which limits the thread space for the nut. 2. The supplied nuts are reverse threaded (why oh why would any manufacturer do that). You might be able to get it to work if you buy separate straight flat-thread nuts so you can snap out of the limited space of bulky levers. But I'm going…

Very strong. Adjustment required

They are very strong and above all: they do not fall. An additional cross brace that attaches to the bike frame holds the wheels at a 90-degree angle. The frogs come with nice thick rubber pads that should protect the bike's paintwork while we use them. Finger" to put them on the bike, otherwise they would get blocked by the components. I hope you can see it in the photo I took. Like most training wheels, they do NOT have bearings. Just direct metal- I replaced the wheels with cheap 140mm…

Big, humming steel wheels!

Holy smoke, that's a hefty piece of metal. We had quite an ordeal getting a bike and then learning wheels for our 8 year old daughter. This is the third set of training wheels we've received and the first set that doesn't flex. I mean you couldn't bend them even if you tried! We have a Huffy bike so remains to be seen how difficult the installation will be. I'd love to learn Huffy bike training wheels first, but I never thought a Huffy bike would make it so much more difficult. The short axle…

Fantastic strong easy to fit training wheels

These training wheels are great! We bought these after the plastic training wheels on my son's bike failed after less than 10 rides, but I don't expect any problems with these metal training wheels. perfect addition to his bike. The jockey wheels were incredibly easy to install and didn't interfere with the chain or anything else. I've included a few photos to show everyone what's in the box, as well as a picture of the back of the box explaining how to put it on. Inside the box you will find…
