Walker Quiet-Flow 53315 Performance Exhaust Muffler Assembly Review

Bought and installed myself. No modifications, this is for my Buick, just fine. Rusted through in two years. Definitely not stainless steel. I doubt it was stainless steel.

Direct replacement for 2000 Buick Park Ave with 3.8L engine. I took it to a local shop and they installed it for a very expensive price. Looks great and works. This should be the last muffler the car will ever need.

My order arrived very quickly and I am very happy with the muffler. It was easy to cut the old pipe and glue it right in place. As BOBB mentioned, the hardest part was removing the stock muffler bracket from the rubber muffler hanger. But with some effort I was able to slide the old bracket out and the new one snapped into place. Everything fit as it should and our LeSabre began to purr softly again.

Very satisfied with the product in all aspects. Delivered quickly, fits very well, quiet, like a normal silencer. Is this stainless steel. Probably the 400 series, which is magnetic. I had my doubts before ordering because someone said it wasn't, but I can only assume they don't know that there are many different grades of SS. That must take a long time. If this muffler is stainless steel it's cheap chinese junk stainless steel. After only 1 month it started to rust. I've had this muffler on my car for about 3 years and the whole muffler has rusted and the intake pipe just ripped off the muffler body. My own muffler lasted 11 years. This muffler appears to be of excellent quality. Walker is a big name from the USA. I'm not a mechanic but installed it in 1.5 hours (2.0 hours total with prep and cleaning). The hardest part, as mentioned, was removing the old muffler from the rubber mount. I sprayed silicone spray into the opening of the rubber strap to make it easier to remove - it seems to have helped. I used a 4" angle grinder with a metal cutting blade to cut off the old pipe. 5 stars for easy ordering and delivery. In my case I ordered this on October 1st, shipped the same day and UPS delivered it here on October 3rd. The installation went pretty quickly. With some mechanical skill and a saw is needed to cut the existing pipe, slipped it right over the existing pipe and the 2 1/4" muffler fork finished the job.
