Walleva Hookipa Sunglasses Replacement Lenses Review

I was so excited to find replacement lenses for my Maui Jim Ho'okipa sunglasses. I read the description carefully, checked my model number and was confident I was getting the perfect fit. I didn't care if the lenses were thinner (as others have described) and hoped they would fit. Good, the lenses fit my glasses, but the screw holes are too big. You have to use your own screws from your old lenses, which is fine, but the holes in these interchangeable lenses were too big and the screw never…

I did a good job of fitting the lenses into the frames, but I found the frames were becoming too wide and not fitting properly. A closer look led to the conclusion that the lenses are significantly thinner than real Maui Jims and that thickness affects the performance of the frame. Because there was extra space, the frames were free to unfold, causing them to be oversized. Trying to save a few bucks ended up being a waste of money as frames with these lenses are useless.

They worked great, fit great but after about 6 months in the car the lenses started to separate and there was air between the layers. Now they look cloudy from the inside. 2 stars. I have ordered them to replace a lens I broke while taking off my 407-02 glasses. They were shipped within 1 day and arrived 2 days later USPS. The lenses are a slightly different shape than the originals with around 5mm extra height top to bottom, so they offer slightly better coverage under the eyes than the originals. Well my wife recently replaced my beloved but scratched Maui Jim Ho'okipa glasses for my birthday. I was trying to figure out what to do with old frames when I found these lenses at Revain. I bought these to replace damaged lenses on my Maui Jim they fit snug and easy to fit they fit 100% perfect, I will adjust the color to the original lenses are no different. If you're comfortable, this is an easy fix compared to the $100 fee. To fix them you will need a Phillips screwdriver. Very reasonable price. I highly recommend these lenses and this company. As a real replacement for original MJ lenses, they are missing. They're significantly (18%) thinner (0.057" thick vs. 0.070" on the MJ), have different lens coatings (whether they scratch more easily remains to be determined), and there's noticeable object distortion. viewed through the lenses at the edges.
