Extremely disappointing

The handle is attached to the knife with round metal pieces. These parts don't fit into the wood of the handle, giving the handle an odd feel. This poor fit and finish really cheapens the knife and takes it off my book. The wood itself is also not very high quality.

Great knife in the chef's knife set

Keeping this knife sharp takes little effort. This must be respected. It's a thin edge and should be kept away from bones, heavy cuts, etc. It really shines like a paring knife that cuts bread and makes chunks of meat if you avoid anything that looks like a bone. This is one of my most used knives.

Large handle, sharp blade

This tool has become a staple in the kitchen. Cuts through thick sourdough like nothing. I like the look of the wooden handle. I applied cooked olives to the handle, sanded it, smeared more oil, and polished it. Looks great and will last a long time. It is made in China despite the German sound of the name.
