The edges weren't super soft but still a nice touch, made for a good wood burning finish, super easy!

I'm so disappointed. This is completely unfinished. I've tried my best with a knife and spoon but it still looks terrible. I am very disappointed that I have to buy another one elsewhere. Photos after I've tried smoothing it out.

I carve a lot of bass and plan to use this shape for a Christmas present. Most, but not all, basswood I have worked with can be easily cut with sharpened hand tools. This finish was possibly the worst I've ever carved. Going against the current and where the wood joins is worse than maple. If you want to use it for carving, I recommend using wood carving tools. Otherwise, like mine, it becomes firewood.

These are great for me when I want to quickly make wooden plaques for different occasions. I have bought 4 of these so far and find them very suitable for my needs. Much better than other similarly priced parts that are instead made of thin sheets of metal glued one on top of the other. On the negative side: the wood has a very unfinished color and feel, but a quick varnish/paint will take care of that and allow you to fine-tune the final tone/texture.
