Ideal for work.

I searched a long time for the right shaft and grip length to replace the old mechanics and it was perfect. The only tricky part was attaching the arms, which are pretty fragile. But now it's done and looks great.

Ease of use, fun with the project

Received as a gift. Was a fun project with my kid. Assembly was easy and seems to be holding up well. The shank can be slightly longer for use with a 3/4 inch shank. We used 3/4" thick wood and after sanding and finishing it was 0.74" thick. Because the shank has a slight taper at the top to make it easier to put the nut on, it doesn't secure well. I had to drill a little less than 1/8" through the back with overlapping passes using my largest forstner bit. After that they fit together…

You get what you pay for

I received this package with damaged packaging but luckily everything works. The dials are VERY thin and flimsy so be careful not to use too much force when installing. The clock is "off" by less than a minute compared to the time on my iPhone and digital cable box. If you consider that with this kit I built a clock that is intended more for decorative purposes, it doesn't matter. The adhesive on the numbers is mediocre at best, but appears to be holding up well to the tung oil coating on the…

keeps the time in style!

After reading the reviews I have to admit that I was nervous about crooked hands and wrong timing. I am happy to report that this product works great. Mine turned out to be in great shape. The arms were nice and straight. The instructions were clear. Installation was easy. And the thing seems to hold up after a few days of use! Please ignore the skewed numbers (they have since been fixed but I don't have an actual picture handy) but here is the project I used this clock kit for: a found hood…

For some reason, time doesn't pass - the hour hand doesn't stay properly on the gears, and the minute hand flies off the screw all the time, preventing the hour and second hands from moving in their circle. I was skeptical about the stickiness of the numbers, but so far they're holding up well on the varnished wood. Although it would be nice to have a template where they can be placed at different sizes (just an 18" paper circle with 12 lines coming out of the center to align them so they work…
