The "floor" of the tent is easily torn, and the "plating" around the openings is just as easily destroyed. Ideally, they would stop eating these things. My rats love this tent hammock! They jumped back and forth while I hung it up. Although there is a linen lining inside, I threw a fleece blanket over them so they could get cozy. Love these little tents for my big guinea pigs - they love them too. So I have a question for the manufacturer in general, although I can't figure out how to send it to the manufacturer: They use cardboard at the bottom of a triangular product and it falls apart after two washes, so the question is: why can't it be used as a thin plastic? "This means they last a little longer and don't break on the gentle cycle of a front-loading washing machine.

I loved this bed for my ferret years ago when I ordered it. but it could definitely be made out of a stronger material as it is made for ferret litter and ferrets are not good at chewing. This was a delightful addition to my pet rat's home. I have a 3 tier wire cage that houses 3 female rats and the cage is lined with all sorts of toys as well as a plastic dome for sleeping. I have only ever kept 2 rats at a time but recently added a third rat. my family and needed a different type of 'house' to sleep in as only 2 rats fit comfortably in the plastic dome house.
