Excellent bushings for trailers. Accessories

On my 1997 Ford Ranger, my car bushings started going crazy. They didn't fully engage and collided, and the truck bounced, lost traction, and then drove off again. I would have to flip the switch up to seven times to turn them off. Even though the 4WD light went out, you could hear the hubs squeaking as they tried to turn on. I found these hub conversions and bought a set of spindle nuts for them. Made them just in time to try them out in the snow. No problem. the truck drove through the snow…

OK but could be better for a little extra

Bought to replace broken auto-locking hubs on my 1996 Ford Ranger which I have owned from the start. They work well enough, but I don't like the internal locknut-only locking mechanism. I would have liked a more secure lock. After about 3 years the marking was deleted. In retrospect, I would have spent the extra money for all-metal. Also, they tend to "fall off" when you remove a wheel. Unlike factory hubs, these are only held in place by wheel nuts. It takes some of those flimsy washers the…

Reliable 4x4. Say goodbye to those unreliable automatic lockers.

I don't know why I didn't do this many years ago. I had an awkward moment on a snowy mountain road in New Mexico. My 4WD wouldn't engage and I got stuck on a hill. Luckily I got out of this situation, came home and ordered them. They are extremely easy to install, although you will need a Warn 32720 Spindle Nut Kit. I have a separate review of this and there were some quality issues. Be sure to purchase a 2 3/8 inch spindle nut bushing. It's another $20, but you'll need it to service your…

Good but far from perfect

I like the unreliable automation manual, it goes without saying. But these jacks have some drawbacks, apparently as cost-cutting engineers from Warn. First, they still have a 1/4 turn, which isn't a lot of leverage. Snap - no problem, you just rotate and the spring action will lock the splines as you rotate the axle. But disengaged, you're now battling wedge friction with little mechanical advantage. You just need to have the wheels loose/unloaded or you won't be able to disengage - it's not…

Great product, great deal on Amazon!

Car: 96 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0 5 speed 7 inch body Have decent mechanical ability to fix my own cars most of the time unless really serious or something requires a machine/tool that I just don't have. They were pretty easy to install, almost like changing a tire if you have manual hubs, and swapping out for them should be a breeze, maybe 30 minutes to 1 hour of work. However, if like me you're changing bad car hubs, it's a bit more difficult, but not terrible. the instructions are real, cut and…
