It's plastic, not wax, which isn't a problem for me. Annoyingly, when I adjust the volume or change the channel on my TV, the candles turn on but don't turn off, so I have to keep the candle remote nearby to turn them off. Strange. I only use them on vacation so the irritation doesn't linger.

Candles have been outside on our covered patio for about a month. We put one in the lanterns and they look very real. We use them for about 2 hours every night and haven't had to change batteries. It is very practical that you can switch the candles on and off using the remote control. I have recommended them to my friends and family!

Well I bought this to use my snowman lantern outside. I had never used "candles" like this before, so I didn't know what to expect. I was surprised how much I like her; I use two of these inside on my snowman table and the other outside in my snowman lantern. The timer works well as does the remote control but I've only had it a day so time will tell! They look realistic, at least to me. I could recommend her to a friend.

Love it! I have them for the holidays and on the porch in the summer. The timer and the remote control are essential and very practical. They appear at the same time every night and pass after 4 hours. Without this feature, I would never have thought of enabling it. I have them under a CLOSED porch and in an open skylight. The waterproofness has been tested and they pass the test. They weren't out in the pouring rain. Happy with this purchase, I bought several sets, maybe I will buy more.
