Short life filters if you are looking for long life. Filter 0.5 micron

Works well for a short time. It's advertised as a 20,000 filter, I'm pretty sure it filters 20,000 gallons but not 0.5 microns. It works well for about a month with a 1 micron pre-filter. I am the only user of this filter and I am sure of my statements. I have used filters with much longer lifespans. My opinion is based on personal taste, not test devices.

It was about 1-2 millimeters shorter than

Tried this filter as a replacement in my Watts water filtration system and found this filter to be incompatible: when I installed it the water flow seemed to shut off its free at all, so tastes the same as out of the tap. When I took the filter out and placed it next to the old one, I saw the difference in length - just enough for the water to flow around the filter instead of through it.

Pros
  • Long reach
Cons
  • Low repairability

Great water filter replacement filter

love it! Absolutely fresh water taste. This update is 8 months later: My water is well water. It took 7 or 8 months for my water to taste metallic (I drink about 4 gallons a day). I'm sure if you live in a city and use the city's water supply it will take a lot longer. This is not a complaint. I was surprised he was doing so well. Based on this, my recommendation for well water users is that the filter should probably be changed every 6 months. After 8 months, the filter was completely brown…
