The brass construction of this regulator prevents the corrosion of iron and copper. The old regulator had an iron base with brass fittings. Rust flakes constantly clog it. With an inlet water pressure of 80psi, it can maintain a pressure of 10psi in the boiler.

My oil boiler often leaked through the safety valve and vent holes. the logical culprit was the intake valve, which we had for ten years. He intermittently applied pressure to the baseboard's hearing aid. Pulled out the old one along with the 3" nipple underneath and replaced it with the new one. Works like a charm after a quick clamp screw adjustment!

Exactly what it claims to be. The bass/bronze case is what I wanted compared to the iron cases at my local home center. Fast, easy installation. The pressure is said to be factory set at 15psi, which I thought was close, but I do a cold start so my hot temp is close to 20psi after a few heat/cool cycles. This isn't a problem with the valve, but if you want to maintain a lower pressure you may need to adjust it to 20% to compensate for temperature changes.
