Efficient USB Expansion for Pi

As my tests showed, this USB HUB HAT offers a seamless and reliable way to increase the number of USB ports in my Raspberry Pi series. The compact design and easy installation make it a perfect fit for small projects. The additional USB ports allow me to hook up more devices, which comes in handy for projects that require multiple peripherals. However, the HAT's USB 2.0 speed may not be ideal for data-intensive applications.

Pros
  • Four additional USB 2.0 ports for the Raspberry Pi enable more devices to be connected.
Cons
  • The use of USB 2.0 limits the speed and potential capabilities of connected devices.

It worked great, then crashed without warning.

The USB bus connecting the HAT to the Pi Zero failed after 2 months and the documentation doesn't say you need to connect to the GPIO on the Pi as well.

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • Expensive Insurance

MicroUSB adapter not working, 2 separate units

Works great after installing Raspbian Fres. The G_ether and RNDIS overlays will most likely cause problems with the included adapter - since you're not using the USB port as a gadget, there's no need to hurt modules.

Pros
  • Single board computer
Cons
  • Good but not great
