Terrible Support - Cannot Install Driver

I am using Dell XPS 13 - 64 bit with Windows 10. The machine looks good enough but the support is terrible. The only guide in the box tells you to download the driver from wavlink.com/drivers/ which would be good enough except these drivers don't work (at least not compatible with Windows 10), but because they come as . RAR files and no documentation that you probably won't recognize until you waste a lot of time. After contacting the company, you'll find that the "real" drivers are on…

He does everything he says. Really really good.

I bought this because we are testing a Chromebook at work (HP13). This is really great for my needs. I am using a Dell 15" Ultra on HDMI and a Dell 24" HD on DVI. They work great. I also have an Anker hub with 8 USB3.0 ports plugged into the back of this unit. All peripherals work amazingly well. The only "minus” is charging. It doesn't charge my Chromebook HP13, but it's not supposed to. What pleased me was the ability to charge a Chromebook. I can use it all day by plugging it in and not…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Good but not great

Running macOS 10.14.1

Attention! The WavLink website does not link to the latest DisplayLink drivers (for macOS as of 11/28/2018). However, support for WavLink proved helpful: when I emailed them my problem, they sent me a link to the actual DisplayLink site download page for the latest drivers. I also had to upgrade my MacBook from macOS 10.14 to 10.14. 1080p display and docked my iPhone and it works fine. Edit: While not officially supported, it's very easy to remove the base of this device and mount it…

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • There are nuances

I was very happy to open my package on September 18th and connect the docking station. It has everything I wanted in a dock, including USB-C ports (didn't look for it in a dock). It works fine for me, but I've noticed that my download speed won't exceed 7.5 MB/s. I'm not happy with that. When I use Wi-Fi instead, or connect Ethernet to my laptop, I get speeds in excess of 100Mbps. I upload a lot of things and the files are usually large, which makes them take longer to load. I use fast.com…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

Update February 2020 The company is now blocking this product as it is not for sale so you will do it have to buy another one. The latest driver does not display a window on dual monitors, and the driver currently in beta no longer supports rotated monitors. Apple does not support the functionality of the DisplayLink drivers used by WavLink. Avoid this company until they develop Apple supported drivers. And if you buy one, get ready to let the company wipe the screen on your other monitors too.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Nothing here
