WOW! I am impressed!

I am so impressed and VERY pleased. First, I haven't needed an external hard drive for a long time. I had an old 5200rpm USB 2.0 external drive. It held up well for years, but I didn't like pulling the USB adapter out of my MacBook Pro (with USB-C) and large video files were too slow to Transfer. So I was looking for a fast and light USB-C compatible portable drive. When I found the WD My Passport SSD I was very impressed! This thing fits in the palm of my hand and is about 4 credit cards…

Pros
  • Incredibly fast NVMe technology with speeds up to 1050MB/s and write speeds up to 1000MB/s. Based on read speed unless otherwise noted. As used for transfer rate, 1 MB/s = one million bytes per second. Based on internal testing; Performance may vary based on host device, usage conditions, hard drive capacity and other factors.
Cons

WD Does It Again - Slow Software Performance

I bought this for a backup drive. When delivered, my 8-year-old laptop saw a floppy disk drive. The WD drive link to download WD Discovery does not work. It has been reported several times that we are having connection problems, please try again. After the third try, I downloaded the program from their website. My drive could not be displayed. Wanted me to backup to Dropbox. I uninstalled and reinstalled all WD programs. Same result. I gave up a used Windows 10 backup. Worked fine, found SSD…

Pros
  • Resistant to shock and vibration. Drop proof up to 1.98 m (6.5 ft)
Cons
  • Anything I can add

Unreliable - will ruin your data

This disk is not reliable. I've used Western Digital hard drives for years with no problems, but without proper product development/quality control they seem to have jumped onto the SSD bandwagon too quickly. It started corrupting my data from day one. The drive itself does not detect bad sectors, and running CHKDSK and performing a low-level format has no effect. Based on the symptoms I've observed (corrupt blocks in image files, weird color blocking in PDFs, etc.), I suspect the drive is just
